Fed: Children's shoes don't fit properly, study shows

MELBOURNE, Feb 4 AAP - Parents paying hundreds of dollars for designer sports shoes
could be wasting their money because the majority of runners are not customised to fit
children's feet, Australian researchers announced today.

A three-year study by University of Wollongong professor of Biomechanics Julie Steele
and PhD student Annaliese (Annaliese) Dowling, has revealed the majority of children's
athletic footwear are cut down versions of adult shoes, designed for American and European
